Love the swanky look and feel. The decor has a warm and inviting feel as soon as you walk in. Our waiter was quite the friendly chap although a tad forgetful. We missed out on the appetizer, but no worry it wasn't charged. Prices are steep. Caesar salad dressing tastes store bought, not in-house made with anchovies. These things matter.
Tried the Seared Salmon from the Specials Menu. Salmon was only a tiny bit dry but the dressing from the cucumber salad really blended with it well.
Try not to let them talk you into their Honeybee drink special unless you're a big tequila fan. It tasted just like honey and tequila. Arrived with a cute "bee" on top, which the waiter explained,"It's edible." It was. I forgot it was there and as it melted away on my lips and tongue, it made me think about an acid sticker from back in the day that I learned about in school to always stay away from.
Bathrooms needed some love. If the restroom isn't clean -- well, never mind.

Matchbox in Silver Spring is also home to a Milk & Honey Pop-Up with "homestyle, comfort food" so we got some biscuits and I got the deep fried salmon hash and my friend got the crab hash 🦀 and to be honest, I won. The deep fried salmon slapped. I don't know why people don't fry salmon more cause that joint was great. The hash could have been a little crisper but was otherwise good. His crab hash was good but the crab flavor kinda got lost in there. Oh yeah the biscuits were good, but took forever to get some water so that wasn't fun but over a good meal, better company and I'd do that Salmon again.

Service was good, space in- and outside great, food good. Missed opportunity from Matchbox not to have espresso at brunch as drip coffee is not drinkable (previous experience). Blueberries on pancakes were very sparsely added. Scrambled eggs were great.

This was first time at the Silver Spring Matchbox. We went at lunch time. My husband ordered their take on mozzarella sticks (mozzarella balls). They turned out to be quite tasty. I ordered the artichoke/spinach dip and that was delicious. We split a pizza and it was just ok.

The portions are very generous and so delicious. Geo was very friendly and made some great suggestions. I wish I had left room to try something from that dessert menu.
