This downtown Frederick icon is one of our favorites! We have been to the Tasting Room many times over the years, and in spite of changing ownership a few years ago, it has maintained its high standards of excellent menu choices, beautifully presented and delicious food, and excellent service. We enjoy going here for long, romantic dinners. Even when it is busy, the ambiance is soft and relaxing. They always have great bar drinks, and a good selection of liquors, as well as a great wine list. Be sure to try their amazing and decadent lobster bisque (my favorite anywhere!), and their lobster mashed potatoes. Also, their jumbo lump crab cakes are probably the best that you will ever eat in Maryland or anywhere else. We also enjoy just stopping off here for lunch, or for a few drinks and snacks at the bar. It is a really popular place, for good reason, so be sure to make a reservation, if you want to be seated at a table. Bar seating is open, but it stays pretty busy, so later in the evening or on weekends, you may have to wait a bit. Be sure to check this off your list if you visit Frederick, or try it out a few times when you are in the downtown area. You won’t be disappointed!!

Visited The Tasting Room for the first time last night and had an amazing experience. For a Tuesday it was busy, so I would definitely recommend making a reservation. The service was wonderful from start to finish. The drink menu is extensive, which includes some creative and quite delicious options - highly recommend "Green with Envy" and the "Black Martini." The dinner menu is slightly limited, but still offers something for every palate. The food is thoughtfully prepared and artistically plated with fresh and exciting ingredients. The portions are on the smaller side which leaves plenty of room to make it to dessert - do yourself a flavor and stick around for tiramisu or the rhubarb cheesecake! The only slight downfall was the restaurant is very loud making it difficult to hold a conversation, i might recommend outdoor seating if this would be a problem for you. Will definitely be coming back for more.

Went for brunch. Nothing to write home about. Had the duck wings which were maybe the best of what we ordered, a little too sweet and could have used less garlic, but still good. Chesapeake Benedict was not very flavorful surprisingly. The crab was just lacking in flavor, a bit watery, while the sauce was heavy, creamy, but also lacked much substance. They should lightly char the English muffin. And the salad with it was good but too much dressing. Watermelon gazpacho was refreshing but not worth the price. Lobster chowder was very creamy and didn't have enough bang from the sherry or other flavors. Could have used more. Burrata was good but not incredibly creamy (still better than mozzarella but not gushing with cream). Overall just average and I wouldn't come back at that price. Plenty of other better restaurants.

We’ve been dining here for years, and have always enjoyed the food and it’s presentation. The staff are knowledgeable, though a little standoffish. Not the best for children, but that hasnt stopped us from bringing ours. You usually need a reservation.

One of my favorite places downtown. I come here for their delicious cocktails and the amazing staff. Food is always good as well. Totally recommend this place if you're visiting Frederick.
