Amazing food, excellent service. Can't say enough positive things about Wags. Recommend for anyone visiting downtown. Keep an eye open for the entrance as it's about ten steps below street level. I had the Grilled Cheese hamburger and a cup of White Bean soup, both specials the day I visited.
Very basic, no-frills dive bar. Laid back atmosphere on a basement level. Menu is mostly comprised of sandwiches, burgers, meat, and fries. No craft beers. I don't recall if they have a dessert menu or if it was very limited. Their prices are really good, and we've had positive experiences with the waitresses: they were efficient, direct, and checked up on us periodically. They were friendly in spite of the fact that they were covering all of the tables, as far as I could tell. One of the best burgers I have had. The burger would warrant a five star review considering the price and flavor; the sides are good, but not remarkable. Had a mixed drink that was a special that was surprisingly good. If you're looking for something more upscale in terms of ambiance, or would like a menu with more variety and/ or have food allergies (fries are fried in peanut oil and I'm not sure that there are many gluten-free or vegan options), this wouldn't be a good fit. Also, as far as I'm aware, the only way to access the entrance is by going down a staircase leading to the basement, which might rule out some people who may need accessibility accommodations. However, if you're looking for an inexpensive, delicious burger, greasy food, and cheap drinks, this is a great spot. Bonus that you can hang out in a sweatshirt and jeans and not feel out of place.
Service on the weekend on prime time is absolutely terrible. You’ll wait forever at a dirty table to be asked what to drink. And you definitely have to snag a dirty table or you won’t get a seat. But the food is delicious. We came during the week around 8pm and got a seat and served right away. We came about 4 times now and the food is so good every time. Absolutely recommend but definitely be patient
The burger is ok, several better ones in fred e.g boxcar, this place has a strange layout, you're pretty much sitting on top of each other, nowhere to hide, food is expected level of quality, passable pub food. Staff are very nice but can get overwhelmed when busy. Drink are cheap relative anywhere else downtown. Don't expect and intimate rendezvous, go here have beer, end of story.
I've been wanting to check this place out for awhile now since hearing it recommended everywhere as the best burger in town, and man it did not disappoint! Definitely recommend this spot for top notch food and excellent service!
